Have you ever held your hands out, filled with funky-looking coins, to a cashier – and hoped they would help you out by taking what they need as payment for your bottle of cold water?

Have you ever just pointed at an item in a menu, that you can’t read, and hoped that you ordered something good?

Have you ever marked out a convenience store as your waypoint, so that on your return you know when to turn right – only to discover that that exact chain has stores on very friggin’ corner in the city you so bravely try to navigate?

Have you ever mimed diarrhea in a pharmacy, hoping they would understand you, and give you medicine to stop it?

Have you ever said to yourself, stop making excuses why you can’t – because you know damn well that you can?

I have, and this blog is fragments of my life.

Some serious.

Some sad.

Some interesting.

Some tasty.

But most of all, some funny.

  1. Hello! I nominated you for a Quote Challenge. I tried to link my post to your blog, but evidently I do not know what I am doing. This is typical and I will most likely proceed for the remainder of the day trying to figure it out. Help! The instruction post is on my newest blog post. Basically, you post a quote for three consecutive days and nominate three bloggers each day. If this does not make sense, I am sorry!!! I will have a better day tomorrow! 2. ha ha ha, what a great intro, trying to imagine how to mime diarrhea ha ha, but everything else I have pretty much been there, showing the money for them to pick up what ever needed, Seven Eleven as the marker to find there are millions of them around. love it

      1. It’s the worst! I was alone in Boston with that situation, and I didn’t have a reservation for the hotel for the next night. I could barely move 2 feet, let alone get to a market! 🙂

  3. i can’t find how to contact you. i was worried about you, when i clicked on your icon on one of my older posts it said your account is deleted. i was afraid you stopped after the brexit post!

your pix on 7/19 are amazing! you should be on pixabay.com or unsplash .com or both! i can’t see how to put that comment on the post itself.

    1. Thank you for your comment. Im thinking the icon thing is due to me going selfhosted – but I will look into it.

To comment on posts you have to open them individually.

  5. Oh yes, I have done at least the first three during my travel. It brings back memories. I just came back from Spain. The cathedral in Barcelona, in one of your photos, is amazing. Designed by Antoni Gaudi 126 (?) years ago and is still in construction?
Thank you for the follow. I missed 14 years of posting my travel photos. I may go back to my memory lane and post some.

    1. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment!

The Sagrada Família is still under construction as it is funded by private means. Thats why it is taking them so long 🙂

You know, tapping into your old photos on your blog is not a bad thing. Readers do like to see what it used to look like, and then there are sites that remain the same – so go for it! I have done it several times 🙂 If for nothing else – it is great to have some something “in reserve” for those days creativity decides not to strike 🙂

    1. hahahaha! I actually photobombed myself in Murcia, Spain at X-mas 2014 🙂 I was setting up the cam on timer, before we all stripped down to our bikinis and santahats and jumped in the pool.
